Blizzard Hunter, formerly known as Blizzard, have shown that the NWOTHM has fully conquered the entire globe as they let loose with their own version of speedy tradition all the way in Peru! Of course I have known that these guys have the chops for a while now (at least since their 2014 ep Conqueror Of Destiny) so they are no secret anymore to me. The only question was if they could build upon the excellent ep with their first full length album offering. On the strength of the uber strong title track I can say that they did with a resounding metallic YES! The title track is simply one of those NWOTHM anthems that just epitomizes the whole genre here, full speed catchiness with a fair amount of melody all encompassed by some pretty nifty guitar licks. Sebastian Palma’s vocals are not the widest ranged in the world and though he does get a bit pitchy at times, he can definitely belt out the notes and the vocals really do the trick with the music that is written here. Subtlety and technique is not the calling cards of Blizzard Hunter, as their strengths really focus on getting in your face and rocking you until your eyes bleed and your body spontaneously combusts! Seriously, I have seen it happen! Honestly though, if you are a fan of the NWOTHM scene and eat up bands such as Enforcer, Cauldron, Night Demon and the like, then this one is mandatory! These guys definitely are legit and love what they do, Heavy Metal To The Vein is very apropos!
