This is the eighth album by these German underdogs on the power thrash circuit. The band still has a bit of that Metallica love that has been there from the beginning (before they started to use a ‘z’ in their name) and that will never change as long as Matthias Zimmer is their vocalist of choice. Not saying that is a negative or anything, though it will draw some comparisons to be sure and depending on who the listener is that can be a good or bad thing as Metallica is a very polarizing band. Enough about them and lets focus on what we have here. The overall feel of the album is a bit more mature than we have seen in the past with PW, and I think they have delved a bit further into finding their own niche here which may help prove the naysayers wrong. I do see a lot of negative reviews for this band and don’t really get it as I find their albums to be rather enjoyable. This one is no exception, albeit for slightly different reasons than the ones before it…of course it is always important for a band to forge new ground and to grow as they develop as a recording artist. Well done, PW…let’s just hope that the sun doesn’t set on this band anytime soon!
