Mixing the melody and finesse of legendary European bands such as Helloween, Blind Guardian, Gamma Ray, Stormwarrior and Iron Maiden with the aggressive speed of their US counterparts in Iced Earth and Megadeth, Silent Knight are breathing new life into a stagnant and saturated genre.
They have shared the stage with Finnish folk heroes Korpiklaani & legendary Iron Maiden vocalists, Paul DiAnno and Blaze Bayley
and the best of Australia’s heavy metal alumni, Lord, Black Majesty, Voyager, Darker Half and Chaos Divine.
Silent Knight have recently finalised a very solid line up that features new front man Jesse Onur Oz who also plays in Ed Force 1, an Iron Maiden cover band where he performs a very convincing Bruce Dickinson! And new drummer Dan Grainger who has an intimate knowledge of the band having engineered their 2013 debut album, Masterplan. Rounding out the band are Stu McGill on rhythm guitar, Cameron Daw on bass and Cameron Nicholas on lead.
Masterplan received praise from all over the world upon release and has seen it available in France, Germany, Greece, Japan and the USA after massive demand from fans resulted in local distribution
As a prelude to their forthcoming new album due in 2015, Silent Knight have released a new EP called Power Metal Supreme. A term that founding members Stu McGill and Cameron Nicholas have been using to describe the band since its inception. It embodies every element of power metal from the powerful high vocals, shredding guitars, galloping riffs, thundering double kick drums and topped off with melodies the crowd can sing long to.
Power Metal Supreme captures the essence of Silent Knight and certainly gives not only a taste of things to come but shows a band in peak condition. Offering one brand new unreleased track and four of their most popular songs from Masterplan recorded live. Plus, a stunning cover of one of the greatest power metal tracks ever written, Helloween’s Keeper Of The Seven Keys.
All 100 hand numbered copies of the EP were sold prior to it’s official release date on October 25!
With such high demand among their every growing fanbase, a potential re-recording of Masterplan with the new line up and higher production values, and a new studio album in 2015, Silent Knight have their sights focused on taking their Power Metal Supreme to Europe and the US in the very near future!
