Every once in awhile I come across an album which becomes a total pleasure to review. I am honestly not familiar with this British band’s debut album, and if this album is any indication on how that first album may sound, I do need to rectify the problem rather quickly. This album is a dead bang rocker plain and simple. The band neither plays a million notes a minute or does anything very over the top, but there is an incredible amount of solid, mature songwriting here with solid guitars tied in nicely with some really well done vocal lines. Ashley Edison doesn’t go into any major extremes with his vocal range, nor does he really need to as his voice is strong and forceful in the mid levels and it really suits the rest of the music very nicely. The band plays some straight up metal that has a very old school feel to it with a very modern spit and polish production that just really cooks on all cylinders. Opening track Claim Our Throne is an apt way to start the album and works as a very important declaration as these guys are really a royal welcome to my metal library and I hope they remain a Pillar on the metal scene for a long time to come!
