Honestly I didn’t really know about this band until it showed up on my radar thanks to a promo copy from Pure Steel Records. Prior to this, they had released one EP during their nine year history. Featuring the really gifted vocals of Pete Morten (Threshold), Nightmare World is anything but a nightmare. This is an exquisitely written progressive/melodic power metal release. The music is very atmospheric and really grabs you right from the opening salvo. It’s not necessarily the heaviest of power metals, but the melodies and overall music just hooks you in right away. Thought-provoking and visceral really both come to mind here. It’s nice to see a project where Morten’s voice can really shine because it really is top notch and granted he is no slouch in the guitar department ever, but I think thie mic is where his talents best lie. I hope to see this band become a mainstay on the scene now that they have put forth this release. The world needs a few more nightmares If they are this good!
